The Cowboys fell to 2-2 when Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey knocked away Tony Romo's pass to Sam Hurd on fourth-and-goal from the Denver 2 with one second left. Garrett's third-down call was also a pass to Sam Hurd, who replaced Roy Williams in the fourth quarter and head coach Wade Phillips was asked if he was OK with Garrett calling plays for the little-used Hurd, who was covered by the eight-time Pro Bowler. "I'm OK with whatever he called," Phillips said. Phillips was also asked why Jason Witten, Romo's favorite target, was blocking on the final two plays. "They blitzed everybody," Phillips said. "You've got to pick it up so the quarterback can throw the football. That's part of it ... They brought eight guys." Source: San Antonio Express-News
the playcalling has been inconsistent and most of the players on their offense don't appear to know what they're doing from play to play. if the offensive struggles aren't garrett's fault, who is to blame?
garrett will be part of wades downfall......but then agians what do you expect for wade to throw garret unfer the bus tot eh media....im sure if he is pissed garret heard it was just behind closed doors but then again i dont know if wade has the ability to gget angry
well, that's part of the confusion, bad playcalling, etc. that is being questioned. at this level, more is expected from the coaches and players.
If you look at it from one point of view it was a great play call, you are able to get their best corner to cover your 4th WR so some where you should have a mismatch in your favor. I understand that they were bringing 8 players but with Roy Williams on the bench you would think that there would be some way to get either Witten or even Bennett in the pass pattern.
right now I do not know if Dallas' running offense will be all that affective in the red zone. Most of the plays they have made in the running game have been off draws or runs with a designed cut back. Those will not always work in the redzone. Dallas has been able to just power the ball in but with MB3 and Jones banged up I can understand them not wanting to just pound the RB up the middle all the time.
Jason garrett is setting Wade up to get fired so he can take over the head coaching duties. Jason Garrett is no genius and definitely not the answer. He constantly keeps putting Tony Romo in bad situations.
By calling questionable plays? Wade is ultimately responsible & may take a bullet for allowing this to continue but I'm not sure how you believe that makes Garrett a candidate....
god i hope that if and when wade gets axed, garret will not get the job there are far too many good coaches out there right now awaiting employment
