It doesn't help the Titans now, of course, but the NFL has admitted it made a mistake in last Sunday's Titans-Jaguars game. Mike Pereira, vice president of officiating for the NFL, said on NFL Network's Total Access that referee Alberto Riveron erred in overturning a call on the field that resulted in a Jacksonville touchdown. Coach Jeff Fisher questioned the call immediately after the game and again at his press conference on Monday. "It was an incomplete pass, it should have never gone to review," Fisher said. "And I don’t believe there is any excuse for that. It wasn’t the difference in the ball game but it was an error in judgment on behalf of the replay system and I believe it was an error in judgment on behalf of the referee.’’ Source: The Tennessean
The NFL referees must be goobered or something. Anybody remember last year? Week 2, Broncos and Chargers. Cutler got hit. He threw his arm forward without the ball in his hand. Chargers recovered the ball, but the play had been whistled dead. Then, a couple of plays later, the Broncos won the game. Like I said, referees are goobered.
Full time Ref's are needed. They need to work on their game year round as most players do. These corporate exec's wannabe's just are not cutting it. It is ruining the integrity and credibility of the NFL.
