For better or worse -- and let's be honest, how could he be worse -- Vince Young is taking over at quarterback for the Titans. Indy leads 31-9 midway through the fourth quarter and the Titans are on track to be the first team since the merger to start one season 10-0 and the next 0-5. Let's see what he can do. The Titans do have some injuries they are dealing with. It's not working with Kerry Collins so far. Ahhh what the hell, give VY a start and see what happens.
kerry collins is JUST NO GOOD! it also doesn't help the wr's drop the ball ev every other play. i really don't think VY is the answer but sometimes a player with a different attitude can come in a get a spark going..... its time to put ol kerry as back up
The Titans are desprite for a win right now at 0-5. They've got nothing left to lose by putting VY in as the starter. The Titans have Kerry Collins signed through what, 2010? I wouldn't be shocked if the Titans drafted a QB in the 2010 draft.
This record is not the fault of Collins. It's receivers dropping the ball, poor line play, injuries, and penalties!! Let them give Young a chance so he can finally prove that he sucks!!
Might as well, they have nothing to lose. I think Collins will start against New England next week, Titans will lose. Then Vince Young takes over the following week.
There is no future in Kerry Collins, so the Titans might as well know what they've got in VY. However, they need to really make sure that his head is screwed on straight. We know VY can run and has a strong arm, but it takes a lot more than that to be a quality QB in the NFL. The Titans need to know if he will be able to develop his pocket presence, his accuracy, his ability to read defenses and make check downs, and his leadership. He displayed great leadership at UT, but has not accomplished it at the NFL level. I think the Titans should switch to VY, but they will have to be patient with him and develop him. Something that is hard to do in the NFL
IF (and this is a big IF) VY has his head screwed back on and he's ready to step back into the spotlight, then I'm o.k. with it. Otherwise, it's pointless because they aren't going anywhere this season and you don't want to ruin any chance VY has of being successful in this league at some point.
Now they need to determine which round there going to draft a quarterback in. Play Vince. If he struggles= 1st rounder if he does decent= 1st to 3rd round if he plays great= 2nd to 5th rounder. Simple mathematics.
Of course they should start Young. Collins lifespan is limited, but greater so at 0-5. Vince said he's a Hall of Famer, so let him lace 'em up and do it.
