Eagles RB Brian Westbrook had just eight touches against the Buccaneers last week, a surprising scene to not only fantasy owners and Philadelphia fans alike but to Westbrook himself. Eagles coach Andy Reid has said that Westbook could split more carries with rookie RB LeSean McCoy in the future. Westbrook told reporters that he understands the situation and he wants to be a good teammate. “I see the plays and how they’re calling them, and in this offense, you call the plays for a lot of your playmakers,â€￾ Westbrook said. “This week, we called a lot of plays for Jeremy [Maclin]. In previous weeks, we’ve called a lot of plays for DeSean [Jackson]. I know that at some point we are going to have to run the ball. At some point, they are going to have to put the ball in my hands. For me, I have to be constantly working on my game, constantly getting better every single week, and I’ll have the opportunity to do what I do with the ball in my hands.â€￾

yes, this is not a case of the rookie stealing that many carries from westbrook. this is a case of the eagles passing the ball a LOT early in the season. Once Reid needs to run, Westbrook is still the guy ............................ as long as he's healthy.

I hope our pass game continues to tear it up vs good teams. We really do have alot of weapons this year. We had a td pass to the fullback we never do that lol.

they are fun to watch and i trust Reid has a season-long plan for this. he's now introduced Maclin to the mix. He's probably hoping that as the season rolls along, more and more teams will drop more linebackers and not blitz. At that point, they will get a heavy dose of Westbrook and McCoy. Then, by the playoffs, teams will struggle with how to defend them and that's what Reid will want in January.
