Saints linebacker Scott Fujita sustained a strained left calf against the New York Giants, leaving his playing status in doubt for Sunday's road game against the Miami Dolphins at Land Shark Stadium. Fujita suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Saints' 48-27 victory against the Giants and backup Troy Evans finished the game in Fujita's absence. Fujita left the locker room Sunday wearing a walking boot on on his left foot. "We'll get a better feel as this week goes on with the extent of it and whether it's realistic if he has a chance to play this week or not,'' Payton said. "(But) we won't know that until later.''
