The Detroit Lions may not have a lot to offer teams that are looking to make a move before today's 4 p.m. trade deadline but they're certainly not going to ignore any phone calls. "We're open to everything," coach Jim Schwartz said Monday. "And if we think its something that'll improve the team, were not shy about making that move. First of all, there's people in the media that are fueling, 'Hey, this guy's on the block, or whatever,'" Schwartz said. "And there's also different people around the league that are fishing. It's like putting a 'For Sale' sign out and seeing if somebody wants to pay what you consider is a really good price. A lot of times, it's not really a matter of somebody shopping a guy, as much as it's somebody just saying, 'Hey, would you be interested in this person if this were the price?'" The Lions may have some interest in a few different players, such as Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Glen Dorsey or Oakland cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. Linebacker Ernie Sims and defensive end Dewayne White are a couple of players who could draw interest from other teams, but it's unclear what their value would be. Source: MLive.com
Well in the least it could be interesting to see what we can get without giving up the ppl detroit needs to at least not fail completely. The lions struggle and rebuild and replace and try different things and havent really found a good groove yet. I just hope that all hope is not lost but hey at least they arent in the VERY bottom of the league this year right?
