JaMarcus Russell's benching in Sunday's game against the Jets doesn't mean he'll lose his starting job. Raiders coach Tom Cable said during his postgame news conference following the 38-0 loss that Russell will remain the starting quarterback for the Raiders. Russell was pulled from the game midway through the second quarter after completing 6 of 11 passes for 61 yards with two interceptions and a costly fumble on the Raiders' first play from scrimmage that led to the Jets' first touchdown. "For the first time, I think he was really out of sorts," Cable said. Source: NFL.com
For the first time? I guess just admitting that there was a problem was a big step in the right direction but really... the first time??
you would think after his performance they would at least give the back up QB one starting game to see what he can do........ his game was horrible.
Yeah....I was  over that one....I hope the Raiders keep Cable and Russell around for a long time. :icon_cheesygrin:
nate did you see what gradkowski did on the field? He was horrible you really think hes going to do better? No, throw Russell in there atleast hed be collecting check by playing on the field not holding a clipboard.
i know bruce gradkowski is not the answer and is not any better then jamarcus i just wish i could see something out of jamarcus some sign that he actually gives a crap and does not want to go through his career like joey harrington, ryan leaf, and akli smith to name a few
I tell you what booing him and calling him names is not going to make him any better I just think the Raider Nation is taking out years of frustration on this young kid. You cant always believe what you read the worst thing than can happen to this kid is for him to lose his confidence. I wish he had a good line and some good receivers not to mention some better play calling so this kid can really show what he can do yes he makes mistakes but the dude is still young and learning. Cmon jenkins is out and cable dials up a pass on the first play of the game its freaking bull crap.
