The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Former Browns receiver Braylon Edwards was charged with misdemeanor assault today in connection with an incident outside a downtown nightclub several weeks ago, Cleveland Municipal Court officials said. Edwards was traded to the New York Jets days after he was accused of punching entertainment promoter Edward Givens about 2:30 a.m. outside the View Ultralounge & Nightclub on Prospect Avenue. Edwards faces a sentence of up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, if convicted and his arraignment hearing is scheduled for Nov. 17th in courtroon 3C at the Justice Center.
