Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell completed 14 of 22 passes for 109 yards and one interception that was thrown towards Zach Miller, who was surrounded by powder blue San Diego jerseys, led to the Chargers first touchdown. He was lucky a first-and-10 forced pass late in the game wasn’t intercepted when the Raiders got a field goal. Russell completed just two passes in eight attempts to wide receivers for 16 yards, and coach Tom Cable so distrusted the passing offense he put the game in the hands of his defense and Sebastian Janikowski rather than Russell. “I did a pretty good job,â€￾ Russell told reporters. “When it all boils down to it, you had a chance at the end to try and win. Didn’t do too much damage with the interception. No matter what happened, I think we came out and fought despite the score and just kept pushing and just came out short in the end.â€￾

When his training wheels are off and his aim improves maybe but for now......well yeah. good luck with that. Just cause you had one game where you didnt COMPLETELY and EPICALLY fail is hardly a start for congrats lol. Do that 8 times in a row and complete a winning season while having games where you DONT have interceptions...then maybe but still only MAYBE lol

It is kind of funny because of course he thinks he did a good job....I hear my old high school needs a QB...he would ROCK at their level lol

I fell asleep during the game so I have no imput on how he played lol.........

I tried but I was tired and the game well, was just so boring....... although I heard the Redzone announcer when Russell was taking his first throw I think say..... Russel is back to pass and we all know what that means, and then he threw the interception lmfao.... I was cracking up

I just find it increasingly hilarious that JaMarcus can't wait to say that he's played well regardless of what the stats reveal, JASON you are correct, JaMarcus is goobered, I'm just wondering when the rest of the team will finally get sick of his "c**k of the walk" attitude and actually call him out on his idiocy, of course it's easy to see yourself as a great player when the owner is between your legs praising your manhood and he slides up and down on it's shaft.

14 of 22 for 109 yards and 1 INT is a performance to be pleased about? Umm, ok.

You forgot that Russell took five sacks, fumbled, averaged under five yards per pass attempt, and completed two passes for 16 yards to his wide receivers. He is 33rd in QB rating, tied for fifth in interceptions, and is completing 48.4% of his throws. <Just saying>

I'm sure Russell is proud to be 33rd in QB rating, lol.

It's that Mobile mentality showing, according to a few of my friends. A lot of people from there just have a mentality that won't allow them to understand they're wrong or need to improve. It's a pride thing, he thinks he'll get better automatically without any practice or hard work, and that when he has an average game he's "showing everybody he's capable"

I've yet to see a really good game out of Russell, and honestly, if I'm Cable, I'm contemplating starting Gradkowski. This is a shame.

Vince Young's numbers were never very great but he won games. Russell's numbers have been terrible and he's losing. I don't see anything to be please with.

Exactly...I can't even believe this guy....he needs to take the short bus back home and stay there till he's old enough to be out on his own.
