ESPN Insider Adam Schefter is reporting on his Twitter page that the Kansas City Chiefs have claimed ex-Chargers WR Chris Chambers off of the waiver wire. "Filed to ESPN: The Kansas City Chiefs claimed WR Chris Chambers on waivers. So he's staying in the AFC West." Source: Adam Schefter
my first thought was he was gonna be a chief, then when dolphin rumors started i thought he would end up back there
If he can get his head back on straight, maybe, it might help him to be in Kansas City. After reading about his off the field stuff I did notice he wasn't really focusing during games, he looked like he was going through the motions a lot of the time (especially in pre-season). I wish him the best of luck though, just not against us.
Unfortunately, he'll only be as effective as Cassell has time to find him. I certainly hope he can provide some kind of spark.
Excellent for the Chiefs he's better then anyone other Bowe in his current state, and if he gets back to playing like Chambers then defenses better look out. Chiefs making moves to be a better team, got to love it.
Chiefs are always active trying to improve their team, gotta be happy about that if your a fan of the team
Almost always... Except when they keep Larry Johnson b/c they paid too much and let Tony Gonzalez find his way off their roster...
eh, ok ........... i guess. so this means the chiefs are on the hook for the remaining $2 million + salary for him this season? i would guess that haley and pioli are 'renting' him for $2 million for the rest of the season so they can give him a 9-game tryout for next season to see if they want to add him to their future plans. kind of an expensive tryout but maybe it's worth it.
not with how much cap space we have. 2 million for 9 games is cheap for a potential starter. besides we need another good pare of hands when Bowe is double covered. im happy with this.
Plus Chambers probably wouldn't have signed with the Chiefs if he cleared waivers, probably would of went to a team with a similar offensive scheme to the Chargers. If Chambers does have an impact for the Chiefs I wouldn't expect an immediate one, but if he has his heart in it, he'll help out your WRs and might help Bowe take it to another level (like he did with Jackson). If he does that alone it'll be a good investment for the Chiefs.
