Titans running back Chris Johnson has plenty of incentive to get to 2,000 rushing yards. Only five NFL players have done it. Johnson, named AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, said he thinks his offensive linemen want the milestone even more. “It’s a goal of mine,†he said. “It’s really a goal of the offensive linemen because I told them if I get to 2,000 yards I’d buy them all a car. They want me to get 2,000 yards more than I want to get it.’’ Source: The Tennessean
Usually it is a diamond studded rolex, but with the acceleration of the salary cap I guess we have graduated to automobiles. :icon_cheesygrin:
I think it's cool, but it's also kind of frightening how far this has come. When I want to do something nice for my co-workers to say thanks I buy them BEERS, or maybe dinner if it's a smaller group and it was a major deal. Can you imagine having the jack to buy them CARS? That's just crazy.
I agree 100%, it wasn't until not long ago that it clicked for me how ludicrous athlete salaries are getting - dude's who play games professionally should not make more than pediatricians IMO.
