Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy Williams said Wednesday his lack of production shouldn't be viewed as proof he can't be the team's No. 1 wideout. "I'm the No. 1 receiver," Williams said. "But things are just going No. 2's way." Through seven games, the "No. 2," Miles Austin, has 26 receptions for a team-high 563 yards and six touchdowns while in his 16 games with the Cowboys, Williams has 33 catches for 447 yards and three TDs. Williams suggested he would be doing the same if only Romo could deliver catchable balls and that Romo's erratic throws make him "look like crap." "He gets the ball thrown correctly his way," Williams said of Austin. "I'm stretching and falling and doing everything. Everybody who's been here, (their) balls are there. Our footballs (thrown from Romo to Williams) are everywhere right now. The only thing that keeps me going is I know I'm not," Williams said. "I know what I am. I know what people are trying to make me be, and that's not what I am. If you come to the game and watch, you'll see what is going on." Source: San Antonio Express-News
uhhhh ohhhhhh not good cowboy fans to hear team mates criticizing each other. they got a big game this week and dont need any of this
lol this is what you live to see, you can die a happy man now. worry about your RB who's going to retire at the end of the season, if he can't double his ypc average.
Seriously this guy is worse then TO with his snitching but it doesent matter cause the media doesent care about roy williams lol. If this was TO espn would blow up right now. Shut up roy you suck the cowboys dont even need you.
In addition, TO actually started a whole new stat : "ruined locker rooms". I think he's leading the league. :icon_cheesygrin:
At the start of the season I would have agreed with Williams, Tony was off with a lot of his passes. It was not only the ones to Williams but also Witten, Hurd, Crayton, and Austin. That being said recently he has gotten better on the passes to Witten Crayton, and Austin. I wonder if it has to do with route running instead of passing.
ok, i've been defending romo and williams on this whole thing all season, because in most cases it has simply been the media overanalyzing a situation to make a story. However, RW's comments are completely unacceptable and someone needs to slap him down for this one. You can't say crap like this about your QB.
I think the slap down you are wanting comes in the form that while Williams is listed as the #1 WR he is playing the part of #3, 4th if you count Witten. It has to be a little scary for Williams because both Hurd and Ogletree have stepped up their games as of late.
no, i'm not talking about not throwing him the ball. i'm saying someone needs to get a hold of the guy and slap him back down to earth and make him realize that he is part of a TEAM and the ONLY thing he should be focusing on is making himself better by running better routes and cutting down his drops and tell him to NEVER talk about any of his teammates like this again. Otherwise, this may get worse.
