Head coach Mike Singletary launched right into the post mortems of the 49ers' 34-27 loss. He seemed particularly prickly when asked why the 49ers went with such a wide open offense against the Titans. "You're asking me why I did it?" Singletary responded. "You've been asking me all week why I wouldn't do it. Now you're asking me why did I do it." Matthew Barrows of the Sacramento Bee theorizes that Singletary never wanted to attempt 51 passes like the 49ers did Sunday, running the risk of turnovers that eventually killed the 49ers on Sunday. I've been saying it for a while. We pass enough, we just don't pass right. Bad routes, bad recievers, bad formations.
yep, our hope that alex smith was different isn't looking very good at this point. alex smith appears to still be ................. alex smith.
I've said it before, I'll say it again. Stick with Shaun Hill, he's not afraid to make plays on the ground that Alex Smith is.
Couldn't blame them for going to Smith after looking quite impressive during the Houston game. But I think the Alex Smith experiment is coming close to an end.
I don't blame them for going with him, I just hope they realize soon why Hill was even considered for the job in the first place. Look at his track record as a starter, it's pretty impressive.
