The NFL said Friday that defensive lineman Tommie Harris had been fined $7,500 for punching Cardinals offensive lineman Deuce Lutui on the fourth play from scrimmage. Harris was ejected and later apologized. Player fines collected by the league have been used to support retired player programs, including the NFL Player Care Foundation and NFLPA Players Assistance Trust, disaster relief programs and and other charities. The leagues policies are so butt backwards: This week, you get Jay Cutler and Chad OchoCinco getting fined 20K for talking about the Refs and making a playful bribe, which is harmless. But Harris only gets 7.5k for throwing a punch at someone.
I like how they try to justify these ludicrous fines. :icon_evil: Pretty soon I wount give a heck about football anymore like I did back in the strike shortened season of 1982. :icon_frown:
