Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook got his second concussion of the season yesterday and the word is that he is likely out for the rest of the season and could be done as a pro, according to NFL.com. Head coach Any Reid called it a "heck of a hit." Reid wouldn't make any predictions on whether this was career-threatening to Westbrook "In these types of situations, football is secondary. We've got to look [out for] this kid and for his future and make sure everything's OK for him before he gets back out there," he said.

Really sad if it is the guy was a hell of a player. His health later in life is more important then football.

westbrook has been a name that has been known in this area beyond his pro days as he played for villanova. while not PSU many here follow villanova football in div II.

it would suck if this is it but again, he needs to live a full life after football.

I feel really bad for him and will miss him, but he needs to do what's best for his health.

Smart decision. Shouldn't even be any hesitation. Like I said you can't screw with your coconut.

Exactly. The brain is the part that needs to be taken care of the most. Hopefully if he wants they can bring him in as an assistant. Great career and it's going to suck not being able to see him play again, but his life is what's most important.

That sucks because the guy had major skills. But concussions are scary crap, and he shouldn't mess with it by any means.

I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. He's done. Unfortunate for the guy to have his career cut short but you know what, i'm sure he's well of financially and crap like that, so get healthy and stay healthy and maybe become an on air talent on espn or something and you stick around the game you love. Or maybe take a year off and give it another go.

That sucks...I really liked watching him play...hopefully it's not true, but it's not looking good. Life comes first...and sometimes, gets in the way...

    this is exactly right.

The dude has been so good, he plays the game like everyone should. Philly fans should def feel good just for getting to be able to wear this dudes jersey with pride.
