The New Orleans Saints, apparently concerned that injuries to starting cornerbacks Tracy Porter and Jabari Greer could linger, brought in some insurance Tuesday night. ESPN's John Clayton reports the Saints have signed veteran cornerback Chris McAlister. But McAlister, a 10-year veteran and three-time Pro Bowler, could step right into the mix as one of the top three corners with Gay and Jenkins if Greer and Porter remain out. McAlister, 32, has been out of the league since the Ravens released him in February. Source: ESPN.com
Could be a good short term fix if he doesn't get injured right away - I don't know how much of a gamer C-Mac is anymore tho, his craft was in shambles when we released him.
The Saints have suffered a lot of injuries in the secondary, and they need some help. I know that Chris McAlister has been injury prone himself the past couple of years, but I think signing him was a good move. They need someone with some experience to step in at least temporarily. Who knows, maybe he makes a comeback like Sharper did.
