Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has been named the NFC offensive player of the week for his performance in Sunday’s 38-37 victory over Cleveland. Stafford not only returned from a left shoulder injury to throw the winning touchdown pass with no time left on the clock, he became the first rookie since 1937 -- and the youngest quarterback ever -- to throw five TDs in a game. He threw for 422 yards, the most by a Lions QB in a victory. “It’s a huge honor,†Stafford said. “It’s awesome. Didn’t expect that one to happen. I’m just thankful.†Source: Detroit Free Press
He sewed up the award when he snuck his separated shoulder past the medical staff. Good to see some good news out of the Lions camp for a change.
Sure he deserves it. Although the Browns aren't a role model for defense, Stafford still had to execute. 422 yards + 5 TD's in the NFL is a good day's work, especially for a rookie.

Does Cutler absolutely suck because he only had 225 yards and 0 TD's against the Browns? I mean it was against Browns for God's sake. Ridiculous.
