Amani Toomer - the New York Giants' career receiving leader - said that his 13-year career is almost certainly over after having not signed with a team since the regular season began. Toomer, 35, now hopes to start working in sports media. "I think I'm done," Toomer said during a show on Sirius NFL Radio. "I feel like it was a mistake going to Kansas City," said Toomer, citing the rebuilding process the Chiefs (3-7) are undergoing. "I played 13 years in a great organization like the Giants. I was in a preseason game with Kansas City and it felt like it wasn't pro football to me. It kind of made it easy for me (to walk away)." Source: FOXSports.com
There are still some decent Free Agent receivers on the market ( Marvin Harrison and Darrell Jackson ) that teams could use to improve there receiving corp. I could see Toomer going to Chicago to help with there young receiving corp. and we all know that the Bucs need receivers Bad, espicially a Vet. Receiver like Toomer. Im sure Toomer is asking for top $$$ for his position and his age probably palys a factor for anything long term with a team. I wish you the best of A. Toomer
I think Amani is done, he's got his ring and has been on the decline for years now - he had a good run.
What he meant to say he is not good enough to help a struggling team improve, and only wants to play on a contending team.
