Steven Jackson has been dealt a $5,000 fine for throwing the pigskin into the stands after reaching paydirt in Week 12 against Seattle, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. That seems like a pretty steep fine for what he did. Source: Rototimes.com
That's what upset me the most. Receive a ball from a player during a game, is one of the greatest things a for a fan. Let them pay the costs for the ball if you want, but there is no reason for a 5k fine. Except that the NFL didn't get the share from a sold memorablia..... Greedy heckers
I just wonder if he actually was throwing it to give it away or threw it with the intention of just hitting anyone.
I understand that the footballs are expensive but to fine a player $5,000.00 for that is ridiculious, I could see a fine for the cost of the football.
If he was a Washington Redskin, Snyder sure would have sent someone to pick the ball up. :icon_twisted: I've seen lots of players handing balls to a fan after a TD. Are they all fined?
