Fox Sports NFL analyst Jay Glazer is reporting via his Twitter page that Seattle Seahawks President and General Manager Tim Ruskell is resigning tomorrow at a 10:00am Pacific press conference. There have been many recent rumors linking Mike Holmgren to the Seahawks general manager position next year. Ruskell's resignation only adds credence to those rumors. According to Glazer, Ruskell was told that owner Paul Allen did not intend to bring him back next year. Glazer's Twitter post in full, "Tim Ruskell resigning as GM/Pres of Seattle, announce it 10 a.m. PC. asked bosses about his future, was told Paul Allen won't bring him back."

we all knew this was coming because Allen is not happy with 2 losing seasons in a row but i'm going to defend ruskell here on this one. i think he's actually a decent GM. he has brought in a ton of free agents. Unfortunately, many of them have gotten hurt during their time in Seattle.

and his drafting isn't bad: i think the 2005 draft was his first with the seahawks. that was the spencer, tatupu, and hill draft. the 2006 draft sucked for him but 2007 and 2008 weren't bad (wilson, mebane, jackson, carlson, forsett).

i don't necessarily agree with chasing ruskell off but holmgren will do alright if he wants to just be a gm and not coach.
