Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was cited for speeding over the weekend after police clocked him driving 109 mph on a highway in suburban Minneapolis. Peterson was driving his BMW on a state highway in a 55-mph zone, Spokeswoman Molly Anderson says he was given a citation and allowed to drive away, it was a "very routine" traffic stop. Peterson tells The Associated Press he didn't realize how fast he was going and he said he "got a little speeding ticket" and said he planned to be more careful, of course it happened the night before Peterson ran for 85 yards and a touchdown in a 36-10 victory over Chicago. He also fumbled twice.

almost twice as fast as the speed limit? Who's Anderson? Seems like he runs at 109 MPH.

Not positive but, going 2x the posted limit has to warrant more then a ticket right?

It will also cost him an autographed jersey, a special appearance at the cop's kid's birthday party and tickets to the vikings game during the playoffs on the 50 yrd line.

It's just a ticket, mush. I got one for going 79 in a 45 (freeway hadn't technically been opened, even though it was all paved and there were no traffic lights). The cop said he could have given me a 'criminal speed' ticket because it was 30+mph over the speed limit, but since I was courteous he just gave me a standard ticket. I ended up going to traffic school, and it was over.

Peterson was late for check in at the hotel. 109 is WAY excessive though and I hope he learned his lesson.

That said, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has tried to see just how fast my car would go on the highway... (134 was my best in a 1986 Plymouth Conquest turbo). And yeah, I was young dumb and full of cum at the time.

Over here it would be a fine of $640 and a suspension of the drivers licence for 3 months. No prison....
