As expected, the NFL has fined Jets S Kerry Rhodes $5,000 for throwing a football in the stands during last Sunday's 17-6 victory over the Carolina Panthers at Giants Stadium. The ball was Rhodes' first interception of a frustrating season. On Wednesday, the league docked Rams running back Steven Jackson $5,000 for tossing a ball into the crowd following a touchdown last week and it was called to the league's attention that Rhodes had also thrown a ball in the stands.
