    Brian Dawkins>Sean Taylor

Sean Taylor was better, and it's not even close.

  7. Football Is Everything

    Football Is Everything Child Please!

    LOL

Brian Dawkins changed games and was the Eagles leader for the entire time he was there from '96-'09

    It's not even close.

    Dawkins>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Taylor

Sean Taylor didn't change games? wow. At least make a valid point. Sean Taylor was young as heck and on pace to become one of the best safeties of all time. I guess you can't see that, I wonder why :icon_rolleyes:.

Dawkins was a better game changer than Taylor. Look @ what he is doing @ 36

79 Tackles! As a FS for a 3-4 defense that requires the safety to fly around and for a 36 year old Dawkins is making it look easy. And his leadership can't be touched compared to Taylor.

It's not just your play on the field it's your actions and leadership off it, and no one touches Dawkins when talking about leadership @ the safety position.

Sean Taylor is known for his aggressive play and LEADERSHIP as well. You weren't in the locker room or on the field, you don't know what Sean Taylor brought to the table from that perspective.

    **********Automerged Doublepost**********

You do realize Sean Taylor was only in the league for 4 years and made a lasting impression around the league as far as talent from the safety position. He set the standard, Let's compare Taylor and Dawkins first 4 years.

Dawkins 278 tackles, Sean Taylor 302 tackles
Dawkins 3.5 sacks, Sean Taylor 2 sacks
Dawkins 8 forced fumbles, Sean Taylor 8 forced fumbles
Dawkins 12 interceptions, Sean Taylor 12 interceptions

Pretty even all around, So I guess it is closer then we both assumed, If I'm drafting one of the 2 , I'm going with Sean Taylor the scary thing is we never even got to see him reach his prime.

  11. Inclulbus

    Inclulbus WE ARE! .. Marshall!

79 tackles for a safety means either he is giving up a lot of catches and having to tackle the dude, or just the teams front 7 isnt doing their jobs. not that im hating on Dawk, he's a helluva player and i got so much respect for him, but Sean Taylor imo is easily better. He was so young and never missed a beat in the NFL. Sean's third season he had 111 combined tackles.. if you do want to go the tackle route, which is a number Dawkins has never even sniffed. [not been to 100 in his career].

I'd also like to add that Sean Taylors stats mentioned in my last post was in 55 games, Brian Dawkins was 59. 4 more games of stats for Dawkins and Sean Taylor still did just as good if not better.

    S!Nstacked Ravenous

    Don't feed the troll.

But if i wanted to fight for something about the team I like
I could say that Ed Reed beats out both of them for the Free Safety spot. :p

  20. Crowned

    Crowned Doesn't give a shit.

Ok but if you are making a team and Ed Reed is gone would you take Dawkins or Taylor, for the record there's no wrong answer.
