The way Pro Football Weekly hears it, there's some sentiment in Pittsburgh that starting RB Rashard Mendenhall merits more work in passing situations. Mewelde Moore has not stood out in pass protection, particularly struggling in the Week 12 loss to Baltimore. Mendenhall is simply the more talented back — and improving weekly. Might as well get him ready, he's got good RAC. I still liked when we were using Moore as a poor man's Kevin Faulk. Mendenhall will have a monster day tomorrow.
Mendenhall can run better, catch better and has been blocking better than Mewelde Moore. Moore has been horrific this season. As good as he was last year, he is that bad this year. He gave up a critical sack in the Chiefs game with 2:30-something left in the Chiefs game on 3rd & 7...then he turns around and fair catches a punt at the 33 yard-line with a defender not within 7 yards of the guy. The very next play, he gives up a sack...stays in the rest of the series which was 4 plays and manages to only give up one more sack. This game alone should warrant Tomlin sitting the guy...he obviously wasn't mentally prepared for this game. Last week Moore was just as bad...
