Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh -- the brother of Ravens head coach John Harbaugh -- supposedly was part of a contingent of people standing along the Ravens sideline during Monday night's 27-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers when he took it upon himself to walk onto Lambeau Field towards the end of the fourth quarter and criticize officials for some of their calls. Earlier today, John Harbaugh fielded questions about his brother's actions and said he anticipates some sort of fine from the NFL. "We've got to get Coach Harbaugh under control, but it's the other one, right?" Harbaugh joked before turning serious. "One time, I turned around when we were having the debate with the 2-minute time management situation out there that the officials handled a certain way. I look back and there's Jim there screaming at an official. I was like, 'You can't be out here. Back up.' Have we heard from the league on that one yet? We expect to hear from the league." A member of the media then asked Harbaugh why he allowed his brother and his father to stand along the sideline. "Because I want them there," he said. "They're coaches. And over the course of time – if you go back to the championship game and the run we had last year, the Dallas game down there – every now and then, I'll go back and say, 'What did you think?' Jim has grabbed [offensive coordinator] Cam [Cameron] on a thing here and there and my dad's grabbed me on a thing or two here and there. So it's a good thing." Source: Baltimoresun
I thought it was pretty cool that he had his brother there on the sideline with him - and they had every right to be mad because the officials double-reset the playclock and allowed GB to run the clock down to the 2 minute warning when rightfully they should have had to get the play (field goal att) off at 2:07 and then we would've called a timeout and got the ball back at the 2.
eh, i saw it and there were 3 or 4 guys that came out on the field from the ravens sideline but they waited until the clock was at the 2 minute mark so play had stopped. coaches go on the field all the time when play is stopped. however, the refs probably didn't know that Jim wasn't part of the Ravens staff or they probably would have told him to shut up and get off the field. i would imagine there are league rules against someone being on the field during a game who is not employed by either team.......
