According to ESPN's Adam Shefter, Mike Shanahan is not interested in the Cowboys head coaching job. Shanahan knows he can't get complete control over personnel in Dallas so it makes sense that he would probably focus on the Washington job. The Cowboys don't want Shanahan right now partly because Wade Phillips has them in the thick of the NFC East title chase and owner Jerry Jones is focused on the here and now. Source: Star-Telegram
Shannahan shouldnt have complete control over personel anywhere And if this is the case, why is he negotiating with Washington?
i agree with the sentiment that shanny should just focus on coaching. i was talking about that a few years ago when he was in denver and i firmly believe it was his downfall. in this case, if shanny has a relationship with bruce allen, maybe he feels he can dictate to allen what he wants to do and shanny doesn't feel like he can control jj's personnel decisions.................. ??? shanny is a control freak and maybe he feels he can control allen.
^^ This. Snyder gave Gibbs control and didn't fight with him on many issues. Jones and Parcells butted heads much more often. Jerry won't hire a GM as he's given himself that title years ago. Snyder is young enough to change his thinking imo. I feel he may actually turn a corner since his personal assistant Vinny was let go.
