There are reports that Texans offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan will join his father, Mike Shanahan, in Washington. Mike Shanahan hasn't been hired officially by the Redskins, but he's reportedly in line to take over if Jim Zorn is fired. Whether his son wants to join him remains to be seen. "We all know that's part of football and as far as Kyle or any coach I have, I want what's best for them," coach Gary Kubiak said. "I think we've all known that if Mike gets back in the business, which it looks like he will, that his son coaching for him someday is very important to him. "You can't help but hear this and that, but we don't talk about it. He's doing a tremendous job. He's done a great job with Matt (Schaub)." Source: Houston Chronicle
well, he's probably the only coach on that staff that has "done well" so he should stay employed somewhere. the rest of them should be fired obviously. however, sometimes with head coaches who specialize in one facet of the game, their 'coordinator' in that facet of the game is nothing more than a puppet for what they want done. it's my opinion that kubiak has always dictated what is going to be done on offense there so i'm not sure how great kyle is. having said that, going to washington would put him with another strong offensive HC so he can continue to be successful.
Ihaven't seen too much but it looks like hes done a good job with the Texans offense so far. Maybe he can bring AJ with him..
