Coach Sean Payton said his team will play all-out on Sunday at Carolina, regardless of what happens with the Minnesota Vikings tonight at Chicago. The Saints can lock up the No. 1 seed in the NFC if Minnesota loses. But even more important right now for the struggling Saints is some positive momentum. "Our plan is to play this game just like it would be the last game to get in the playoffs," Payton said, adding that he thinks it's a good time for his team to travel for a road game to help it get re-focused after a two-game losing streak. The Saints (13-2) could have clinched the No. 1 seed with a victory over Tampa Bay at home on Sunday, but they coughed up a 17-0 first-half lead and lost 20-17 to overtime. Well, IF the Vikings win tonight, week 17 will be a must win for the Saints for sure. They seemingly had home field advantage locked up, only for it to possibly slip through their fingers.
Agreed. The Saints cannot afford to let another one slip. Besides, they need to get their stuff back together for the playoffs. It won't be easy against a Carolina team that has been playing very well of late.
This is a must win for the Saints because there stumbling into the playoffs with losses and may lose confidence. They can't treat this like a preseason game sitting everyone out since they have the #1 seed locked up...and say we'll turn it on come playoff time" that will gaurantee a playoff loss.
