Raiders QB Charlie Frye passed for 333 yards Sunday and while he also had three passes intercepted in a loss at Cleveland, it was enough to show coach Tom Cable and owner/GM Al Davis that he is a competent NFL player and worth re-signing. However, Frye’s up-and-down showing also proved the Raiders are without an unquestioned starting quarterback entering next season and that they are going to have to make some tough calls on how to proceed in terms of whether to re-sign Frye and/or Bruce Gradkowski, as well as what to do with JaMarcus Russell. Based on Frye’s showing in two starts and the way he comports himself off the field, in practice and meetings, the Raiders want him back. Source: SportingNews.com
