Houston coach Gary Kubiak expects offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to leave the Texans if his father Mike Shanahan becomes the coach of the Washington Redskins. Kubiak worked for the elder Shanahan in Denver for many years, he spoke of Kyle Shanahan's departure as inevitable, despite Jim Zorn's firing coming just hours before. He says that working with his son is something Mike Shanahan has "always wanted" and he added that it isn't official yet but that he would start looking for a new coordinator.

Yep. If only he could take Kubes with him as well. This could have been the perfect off season for the Texans actually. Kubes could have been fired and immediately gone back to coach under Shannahan.

And the Texans could have hired Bill freaking Cowher. Man, what a total missed opportunity.
