Rich Gannon, the 2002 league MVP for the Oakland Raiders, is offering his help to his former team. Gannon said on Sirius NFL Radio on Wednesday that he called Raiders owner Al Davis the previous day to offer whatever help he can to the organization. “I did something yesterday that I can’t believe even I did,†Gannon said. “I picked up the phone and I reached out to Al Davis. So I called Mr. Davis, I have not spoken with him yet, but I’m happy to help out in any way I can. I’d love to help JaMarcus Russell if he wants help. I’d love to help Tom Cable and that organization. It’s important. Listen, seven straight seasons where they’ve lost 11 or more games? Something’s not right.†Raiders senior executive John Herrera said Davis would not be accepting the offer and questioned why Gannon made it public. “Maybe it’s Rich that needs the help,†Herrera said.

Nope. I'm pretty sure it's the Raiders.

  5. Freaking ingrates.

Gannon was the only Quarterback they had in over a decade. The Raiders are no longer a joke imo because jokes are meant to be humorous. This is no longer funny, 7 straight seasons with 11+ losses after reaching Super Bowl 37. The Raiders are a poor pathetic excuse of a football organization. Saddest of all, they don't even seem to care.

WHy Gannon would want to involve himself in that mess of a team makes me believe that he may indeed need help...

I would be interested in knowing why Gannon felt the need to make it public too...you want to help then just shut up and help, why announce it then add that you can't believe you offered to help.

Gannon we get it, you're on Sirius are you just trying for more air time, this isn't a popularity contest. What a tool.

It seems like a nice gesture by Gannon, but that franchise is in such shambles, that it's like a snowball on a steep downhill slope, only it's runaway locomotive with no brakes instead. Not even Gannon can save this train wreck!!! :icon_rolleyes:

If you're going to do a good deed then just do it, it's the advertising of it that I have a problem with, makes him seem like he has ulterior motives.

There is no problem with the Raiders. Be assured. the Raiders organization is safe, protected. The Oakland Raiders will win the next three Super Bowls.

    Stinger75 It's Showtime, Folks!

I was a huge Gannon fan back in the day.. Hell I still say that Gannon would have brought the chiefs to a superbowl if not a championship(and that is hard for a Raiders fan to admit... But Schotenheimer lost his mind, twice.

But since Gannon retired he has been such a little whiny snitch. You career as a color analyst is going no where & a sirius talk show is like saying you are cable radio.
