With a 2,000-yard rushing season and the most yards from scrimmage in NFL history, Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson has run away with The Associated Press 2009 NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. Considered the fastest man in the NFL, Johnson was a blur for defenses in gaining 2,509 yards overall, including 2,000 rushing. He is the sixth player to gain 2,000 yards on the ground and the first to finish with at least 2,000 rushing and 500 receiving (503). Source: Fox Sports
This is just great news to a guy who worked his butt off, yay for CJ...congrats Titan fans wooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooo
I know this has been said before, but remember when everyone laughed at the Titans when they drafted him?
I sure thought taking him that high was a reach. I think the vast majority of people did, too. Congrats to him. What a year.
That's not how I remembered it. I remember it was a reach (props to Titans for going out on a limb), but I kept hearing how he was potentially steal of the draft, but then I wasn't here with you hateful mofo's. He was toted as a huge fantasy sleeper and I nabbed him that year based on all the positive talk and won my league.
Wide Receiver was their biggest need that year, which was an occurring theme for them for a while. Johnson was considered a poor mans Reggie Bush coming out but he showed that he can be very capable of being a full time back. Congrats Chris. :icon_thumright:
