Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan says Raiders owner Al Davis gave him his only interview for an NFL head coaching vacancy four years ago. He'd welcome another opportunity to impress Davis if current coach Tom Cable should be dismissed after a 5-11 record. "Hell, yeah, I'd have interest," Rob says. "I haven't talked to Mr. Davis because he has a coach. Let's see what happens." Cleveland (5-11) made defensive strides in 2009 and finished with a four-game winning streak, which persuaded new team president Mike Holmgren to retain first-year head coach Eric Mangini -- Rex's predecessor with the Jets -- and his staff. "Nothing comes easy," Rob says of his wait for an opportunity. "There are a lot of good coaches out there, but there are only so many Ryans." Source: USA Today
hahahha dont make me laugh they offered him the job last season and he didnt wanted so heck off ryan god i hate that pr**k.
is cable really going to be canned because of the comments he said about russell? if so, that's sad. cable did and said everything he was supposed to. he would have taken a bullet for davis. and now these days, leading up to his firing, are being used by davis to write up about 5000 reasons why cable should be fired; in front of the media.
