Text Donations At A Rate Of $500,000 An Hour During Divisional Playoffs

  1. The NFL's inclusion of promotional ads encouraging TV viewers to donate to Haiti relief efforts paid off in a big way. American Red Cross spokesman Roger Lowe told the New York Times that text-message donations were "coming in at the rate of $500,000 an hour" during the divisional playoff games this weekend. Fox and CBS were among the networks that broadcast pre-game and in-game messages encouraging fans to give by texting "HAITI" to 90999.

    Wish they could do something like that for the people that are struggling here in the U.S. as well...

    Glad to hear they can help Haitia like that...sad story, but some amazing survival stories coming out of it.
