Players Lobbying Congress In Battle With The NFL

  1. About 30 current and former NFL players are on Capitol Hill talking to lawmakers about a range of issues, from antitrust law to a possible work stoppage. Union president Kevin Mawae tells The Associated Press that the players are closely watching a Supreme Court case in which the NFL wants some protection from antitrust laws. He says a favorable ruling for league owners could affect free agency for players and help owners control ticket prices.
