Jim Harbaugh Not Interested In Raiders Head Coaching Job

Discussion in 'Oakland Raiders' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jan 20, 2010.

  1. The Oakland Raiders have spoken to Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh about becoming their head coach, sources inside and outside the organization said, but Harbaugh did not express interest in the job. The Raiders also have spoken with former Raiders offensive coordinator Marc Trestman, who now coaches in the CFL. A source said Jim Fassel also talked to the Oakland about the job but the former NFL coach, in a radio interview Wednesday, denied interviewing with the Raiders.

    I don't blame Harbaugh either.

It'd be hard to turn down a head coaching opportunity in the NFL, but when you know the team has a good chance of going less than .500 and you are more than likely going to get canned at the end of the season, I wouldn't do it either.

I think it's hilarious that Al is doing all these interviews before he fires Cable....that guy must have little to no self-respect at all to keep hanging around, hoping everyone else turns down the job so it'll be his by default. :icon_rolleyes:

Cable is in a position to get millions of dollars in a job where no one expects results unless someone else steps in - I'd swallow my pride for Tom Cable's salary.

I'm confused because first it was Jim Harbaugh "Showed no interest in coaching the Raiders." Now, people are saying that Al Davis and Jim Harbaugh hasn't spoke yet?????
    Which one is it?

I think ESPN is trying to call Al Davis's bluff.

Al Davis is so smart, he is conducting interviews to comply with the NFL Rooney Rule even before he fires Tom Cable.

The only way they get rid of him is for him to die. He will never give up the team.
