Oakland owner Al Davis and coach Tom Cable are expected to continue talking but there is no timetable for Davis to make a decision on whether to fire or to keep Cable. If the Raiders hire Baltimore quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson as offensive coordinator before a decision is made on Cable, it may be a good sign that Cable is staying, it would be strange for an established coach such as Jackson to agree to a new job without knowing who his head coach would be. Cable has the support of the locker room and that could be swaying Davis but one reason Davis may be taking his time is so that he can make sure his next coach believes in quarterback JaMarcus Russell.
