The Chargers' Super Bowl window may be starting to shrink, because they might have some roster issues with some of their most talented players, including ballhawking starting cornerback Antonio Cromartie. Reporting for the San Diego Union-Tribune, SN correspondent Kevin Acee writes that team officials may look to trade Cromartie in the offseason to free up some money to sign other key players. One of those players is running back Darren Sproles, who stands to make $7.3 million in 2010 if he's tendered as a restricted free agent without a long-term deal in place. Source: Yahoo Sports
If this is to be true, taking Sproles over Cromartie would be a real bad mistake. Good cornerbacks are few and far between, and when the Chargers have had so many secondary issues in the recent past, I just feel this rumour doesn't have legs.
give me cromartie....please....i should have dibs cause he was one of 3 players i wanted that year in the draft. and damnit im picky about corners in the first.
meh...2007 yes. 2008/2009...average. Definitely keep him over Sproles especially for that kind of money...
Apparently Shaun Phillips said on his twitter account that Dallas and San Diego are working on a deal
