Coach Brad Childress says he won't set a deadline for the 40-year-old quarterback to decide, Childress said Tuesday at his season-ending news conference that he'd prefer to know sooner rather than later, but that the team will plan for both possibilities. Favre insisted after the NFC championship game loss in New Orleans that he wouldn't take months to reach a decision, unlike last summer's back and forth. Childress also took responsibility for the costly too-many-men-in-the-huddle penalty that preceded Favre's interception in the fourth quarter against the Saints with the Vikings driving for the go-ahead field goal. No use for a deadline, since he'll do whatever the heck he wants, whenever the heck he wants, anyway...
They won ten games with Tarvaris at QB the year before. Favre had a phenomenal year, but let's not forgot how solid that team is right now. Crap, put Sage or Tarvaris back in there and ride the AD/Taylor train again. The defense will do it's thing. I've got some serious respect for the Packers organization. They had a question mark behind Favre at the time but they told Favre to either give his decision or heck off, and they had the balls to hand the reins to Rodgers. 'Whenever you are ready, you let us know, Brett.' Pussies.
