Louisiana Democrats Wants Gov. Bobby Jindal To File Lawsuit With The NFL

Discussion in 'New Orleans Saints' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jan 30, 2010.

  1. The Democrats' governing body Saturday called on Republican Gov. Jindal to defend the rights of Louisiana citizens to use the term "Who Dat" and the New Orleans Saints' fleur-de-lis symbol. Some T-shirt makers have received cease-and-desist letters from the NFL demanding they stop selling shirts with the traditional cheer of Saints fans, the NFL claims the shirts infringe on a trademark it owns. The issue has outraged residents, including members of the state's congressional delegation, who say it's ridiculous for the NFL to claim ownership of a saying that predates the Saints.
