With some pressure from the outside to consider Isaac Bruce for the Rams’ vacant position of receivers coach, coach Steve Spagnuolo was diplomatic when asked if he planned to talk with Bruce. “I don’t know him that well but I have heard so many great things about him as a person and I certainly know what he was like as a player,†Spagnuolo said. “At some point, I will try to give him a call.†Talk about lukewarm, something tells me Bruce isn’t waiting by his phone for it to ring, but for now, Spagnuolo can’t say much more, Bruce is still officially under contract to the 49ers until March 5, and he hasn’t yet announced his retirement. But don’t get your hopes up remember the tribute to Bruce at the final game of the season with a little over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, well, had the score been closer at the end of the game, it wouldn’t have been done at all.
