Cardinals General Manager Rod Graves said the team will look at all the options regarding wide receiver Anquan Boldin. Which would mean either a trade, an extension, or just keeping Boldin for the final year of his contract and then "settle on whatever is best for the team." Boldin has expressed his desire for a long term deal before the 2009 season and demanded a trade because of lack of compensation and felt the team didn't care about him. Source: AzCardinals.com
If I was Boldin I wouldn't re-sign with the Cardinals in any way shape or form. I'd wait it out as long as possible and get a long-term deal wherever else. Sounds like the Cardinals haven't been too good to him.
As much as I love Boldin, he can walk at this point and I won't lose any sleep over it. He's a great teammate, leader and locker room presence, and he does deserve to be compensated for his play, but he had his chance for a new contract from us and blew it. We wanted to take care of him before we did Fitzgerald but he and Rosendouche told us they wanted to wait and see what Larry got. He blew it, and since has acted like a crybaby. Sorry, but if you leave a good offer on the table out of greed, and the offers not there when you come around, its your fault. Shame, but we have 2 great receivers waiting in the wings. We don't need him.
Totally agree! I mean the guy takes a beating all the time for the cardinals in YAC and he still plays hard even as an under payed WR unfortunately the cardinals have now made his market value go down since he had that all those injuries this year. So now he has to go for the team that will give him the best deal money wise rather than go for a contender and get his ring but then again i could be wrong!
