Beat writer Tom Kowalski says the Lions could be interested in bringing in Rams quarterback Marc Bulger to backup Matthew Stafford if Bulger is released. Kowalski beleives that current backup quarterback Daunte Culpepper won't be returning to the Lions and supports the theory that the Rams are going to draft Oklahoma's Sam Bradford at No. 1 overall, which would make sense that Bulger becomes a free agent. Kowalski writes that Bulger's former head coach in St. Louis and current Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan would be interested in bringing him in. Source: MLive.com
Not at all. Bulger is a broken QB, and by broken I mean his psyche, I don't think he'll ever get back to those good years he had after Warner's departure. Culpepper is a guy who believes he can still play, but just can't. You're better off bringing in someone else.
meh ... you never know with some of these guys. He's most likely done, but I wouldn't be surprised if this guy gets back into the game at some point and is productive...
Why would you go and want a starting QB who only won 1 game all of last year, you have a better chance at signing a younger better backup or even signing a QB from the draft. It makes no sense in getting a good for nothing QB from a franchise who has not been able to rebuild, I would rather they would pick up Leftwich he is a much better back-up
