Eagles Likely To Release RB Brian Westbrook?

Discussion in 'Philadelphia Eagles' started by BigBlueBruiser, Feb 22, 2010.

  1. Les Bowen of The Philadelphia Daily News confirms that Eagles running back Brian Westbrook "seems likely" to be released this offseason. Westbrook's release is inevitable, unless he takes at least a 50% pay cut from his scheduled $7.25 million salary in 2010. Going on age 31, Westbrook probably wouldn't be offered more than $2-3M for one year from other teams.

He should just retire. Hate to see him go out like S. Alexander bouncing from roster to roster with almost no playing time.
The Eagles should retire him and sign him on as their RB coach.

He's done, too banged up this past year with those concussions.

I dunno about this article specially coming from a giants fan! I mean i know the guy is banged up but from reading more he had said he wasn't fully healed from his first concussion before he went back to playing and go a second one. But since now the eagles have Shady McCoy and Leonard Weaver they can have 3 active backs in the field to split the carries.

And i will admit those are very hard words to hear when you see that Westbrook could be released
