Quarterback Matt Cassel is safe with the Chiefs for now but he could find himself in the hot seat real fast after the team gave up the 34th selection in 2009 (with Mike Vrabel also coming over) if he doesn't begin to produce wins. While the financial cost was steep, the Chiefs will have to make a decision on Cassel next year at this time, when a $7.5 million option bonus is due. Kansas City maintains it is committed to the ex-Patriot, but this bears watching. Source: Boston Globe
Every QB is on the hot seat when they aren't winning. I'm sure our management will assess whether we are winning or losing because of him.
Step 1: O-Line Step 2: WR/TE Step 3: Another RB to split the load with Charles Then after all that is done Cassel can go on the hot seat.
They need to provide him with some help in the offense i don't think he has anyone to throw the ball to i remember when he got traded i though well at least he has a future HOFer to throw the ball to and then Tony Gonzalez gets traded away. Poor guy has no offensive weapons and no run support
I think Cassel will be fine once he has consistent O-line protection and WR's who don't drop the ball every time they turn around.
once he has a OC 2 talk 2 as well. im sure things will look 5x better this coming year than last year.
If he craps the bed this year, I would probably agree with ya. Just curious as to why you want to nuke him after 1 year of horrific line play and questionable decisions about coordinators?
at least he didnt stink it up last year like alot of ppl thought he would. he worked with what was given 2 him and he didnt complain. im glad he is our QB.
