Shawne Merriman Upset With Chargers Lack Of Communication

Discussion in 'San Diego Chargers' started by BigBlueBruiser, Feb 24, 2010.

  1. Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman says he has made his intentions clear, he loves playing in San Diego and wants to remain with the team beyond March 5, when his contract expires. The Chargers, however, haven't been forthcoming about their plans for him, and he's not happy about it. "As long as I'm able to play football somewhere, I think I'll be in a great situation," he told Pro Football Weekly. "I've said over and over again that San Diego is one of the greatest places you can be. The fans are great here, and my teammates have been great. The organization, they've been great up to this point, and we're going to see what happens with that. "I love being here, period, but at the same time, to be in my situation after helping my team out as much as I have in the past, to not know where you're going or what's going to happen with your future, is not a great situation for me. It doesn't make me feel good." If no new Collective Bargaining Agreement is agreed upon before March 5, Merriman will become a restricted free agent, which will put the Chargers in control of his future.

What an idiot!!! Doesn't he get it that the chargers are tired of him? Im sure they wanted to get rid of him when the whole Tila Tequila domestic abuse came out.

Someone is gonna be looking for a new team this offseason

The Chargers are upset that you are a total douche bag because you beat the crap out of women who are 1/4 of your size...

I think the Chargers will let him simply walk without any compensation. He's a RFA so look for the Chargers to tender him with a 1st round contract.

He hasn't been the same player since he got busted for performance enhancement. Makes you wonder how much it had to do with him playing great. Since he came back from the suspension he's been average. Granted he came back from a surgery that he had in the 2nd game of the 2008 season but that was long time ago. Even at the end of last year he was making plays like he did in his first two seasons.

He is probably not the same since the suspension cause he got off the Juice and probably another reason why he torn his MCL 2 seasons ago i think
