During a conversation with Patriots owner Robert Kraft at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis, Tom E. Curran of Comcast Sports New England reports Kraft says the team is close to striking a long term deal with nose tackle Vince Wilfork. "Look, we're running a business and in a business you have to prioritize. We have a budget," Kraft said. "We want to develop a team that puts us in the best position to win. Vince was a priority. And we worked very hard and I think both sides have worked hard and I think we're close and I hope we close something but in the end, he was our priority, the first priority. We have a number of other deals we've got to do. We're going about building our team and I hope in this process we get to close this out. I know he's a very important part of our team and I think we made an offer that can hopefully get it done." Source: Comcast Sports New England
The same teams that have overpaid for Deion Branch, and David Givens, and what's been left of Ty Law year after year... etc. etc. etc. Getting Wilfork locked up would be great news, though. Just don't tell one Mr. Moss- remember, the Patriots don't pay. :icon_rolleyes: After Wilfork comes Mankins, and Gostkowski, and some guy wearing #12...
I wouldn't give him that much! i mean he is a good player but he is not a Dominant player. I'm sure the patriots are working a good negotiation
