Chan Gailey Says He'll Adjust The Defense To Fit Players Talents

Discussion in 'Buffalo Bills' started by BigBlueBruiser, Feb 26, 2010.

  1. Speaking to the media at the NFL Scouting Combine, Bills head coach Chan Gailey said that instead of forcing players into a defense, he and defensive coordinator George Edwards are going to adjust their "D" to maximize the talents of the players they have. While not everyone in Buffalo is an ideal fit for the 3-4, some actually might benefit from the change, such as 2009 first-round pick Aaron Maybin, who made little impact last year at defensive end. "Aaron's got a lot of physical talent," Gailey said. "If we can get him moved and get him to where he's standing up and doing some things off the edge, that might fit him a lot better than being a hands-on-the-ground 4-3 defensive end."

The team is built to be a 4-3, so lets move it to a 4-3.

WOW!! Holy cow! Imagine that...a coach...adjusting his defense to fit his talent...really? Isn't that what coaches should do anyway?!
