An undisclosed NFL source believes that the Bears could be a top candidate to reel in defensive end Julius Peppers, according to Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post. The Bears covet a great pass rusher, and were hoping Gaines Adams could eventually serve that role prior to his tragic death in January. The Browns also have Peppers on their radar, but really lack the funds to make him happy.

Ya know, I didn't think the Bears had a snow balls chance in hell in landing Jay Cutler. Then again, that was via trade. I would be way more stunned (but happy) if the Bears signed Peppers. They have the money, they just need to spend it and stop being so damn cheap.

Sadly Peppers has stated many times he wants to play OLB in a 3-4. Although money talks, but not for Angelo.

I dunno if adding peppers would be the answer for the bears since they need far more help that just pass rushing ability. Their defense is aging and is not what it used to be and they have no offensive weapons to help out Cutler and I'm sure the last thing they want is to add a 30 year old player to an aging offense if anything they need to draft defensive players and maybe pick up some weapons for Cutler in free agency. I'm sure T.O would be on their sights as well as maybe another running back

He has said many times he wants to *showcase* his talents as a 3-4 OLB. It would surprise me if he went to the Bears...it would be a solid pick up...but surprising.
