The Redskins are in contract negotiations to re-sign veteran defensive lineman Phillip Daniels, whom they plan to use as an end in their new 3-4 scheme, which is expected to still include some 4-3 principles. Versatile defensive lineman Lorenzo Alexander will add outside linebacker duties to his responsibilities, people familiar with the situation said. Jason Reid of The Washington Post says the Redskins are expected to pursue defensive end Julius Peppers, who apparently wants to stand up in a 3-4 attack, in free agency. Source: Washington Post
Of course, with no cap in place, Dan Snyder finally has the chance to go crazy with the checkbook. His team still won't make it past .500.
idk...that could be a defense that would be unstoppable. i dont usually buy into buying players to be great but thats some serious talent with orakpo,, haynesworth and peppers
He wants to "stand up" meaning play OLB in whiich he would be a huge liability in coverage And IMO if he wants to play DE in a 3-4, he needs to go wherever Cody goes
Wherever Cody goes? Who says Cody is any good? Dude is huge...but NFL is different from college. Also...Peppers will not play DE in a 3-4...he would play OLB.
cody cant be moved...if you want cody to get 8 sacks a year....yeah cody is no good, if you want cody to take up space he can do that for 10 years cody didnt make bama a top 3 defense during his tenure there by accident
It wasn't just Cody that made that defense a top 3 defense either. The overall talent on that side of the ball had a big say in that top 3 defense too.
but what cody did for all that talent was take up space....he can do that at the pro level, no doubt in my mind
Having a NT of Cody's size to occupy blockers is the only way Peppers would thrive as a DE in a 3-4 He will play OLB, but he should be a DE in the mold of Bruce Smith. Unfortunatly he doesnt have the consistancy to play on the line in a 3-4. He would kill as a hybrid type for a team like NE. He can cause some serious damage at both spots, however I dont think he has the right skills to thrive at just one full time
Lol. So because he is a fat slob that had enough motivation in college to try hard enough ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$), he is a lock to succeed in the NFL. No way in hell do I waste a high pick on a guy who looks like this when he should be in the best shape of his career.
Oh that is too funny! that picture says it all. And Snyder will always buy talent rather than draft it. They need so much help in the Offense he might want to rethink about peppers
